As official distribution of American comics began with cover dates November 1959, every issue of this first series of Justice League of America was distributed to newsagents across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales and with generally pretty good coverage. Major cities and especially major ports like Southampton would get very good coverage. More rural and inacessible areas would have more sporadic distribution. Even in Blackwater in Surrey where I grew up, it wasn't uncommon for my newsagent (me as a mad DC collector) to miss an issue of Superman or Batman, JLA or Flash, Green Lantern or Wonder Woman. Really annoying. It meant a mad cycle ride a few miles away up to Camberley to try the various newsagents (about 4 in the mid and late 1960s).

I seem to remember reading that there were about 1500 newsagents across the UK at the time of first distribution so if each newsagent took 3 copies of something, were there only 4,500 British copies or more correctly UK Variants of early 60s DC's out of a print run of anything from half a million to a million?

Heritage Auctions sold a 9.4 CGC graded copy of #1 for $35,850 way back in their May 22nd 2008 auction.
