#1224 New Year issue though no mention of this on the cover. #1237 April Fool issue. Not mentioned on the cover but referred to in the Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx stories. #1238 Easter issue. Watch out for the colouring-in competition inside - make sure it's not been crayoned in! #1267 Halloween issue. It is implied on the cover rather than specifically referred to. #1268 Fireworks issue. One of the best fireworks covers ever. #1275 Xmas issue (snow on cover).

A complete year sold in the COMPAL Summer 2008 catalogue for £272.

#1242 (7th May 1966) has the distinction of appearing on the Blues Breakers album cover by John Mayall with Eric Clapton. Based on this small fact a VG copy with a huge piece out of the front cover sold for £14.61 on eBay UK way back in Nov 2008! Even more amazingly a copy sold for £56 in Sep 2009. And graded Good Minus/Good!

STOP PRESS! Mar 2017 Phil Comics sold a pretty low grade G/VG copy for £206 on eBay UK in Mar 2017.

#1276 New Year 1966 issue.

2023: values are rising fast on the Clapton Beano #1242. I think a basic VG would now reasonably fetch £300, a genuine Fine would be at least £400. Any higher grade after that, it's a matter of what the buyer will pay....

Feb 2024: Phil Comics once again! A VG+ copy of the comic for £399.99! Where will this end?

Jun 2024: a slight dip....comic and album this time for £320....
